Not a bad looking car but definitly not a frame off resto. It is missing the A.I.R. equipment. The underside is a little dirty for a 40K car. It is a dealer so tack on 10K just because the ythink it is worth more coming from their shop. You can tell the Armor All on the hoses and inside ofthecar. Someone did a decent job polishing it. 30K maybe but someone will buy it.
Seems to be a very nice LT-1. Most unusually optioned, only see PS, Alarm. Of course devoid of A.I.R., that needs replacing. There is usually some more information on these Corvette Order Copys, this one seems to be missing, of course it could be faded beyond ability to see it on this photograph, however the vin would indicate that it should be there. This one item should be carefully looked at in person in my opinion, otherwise a very nice looking example, and probably worth the asking price.
Hard to tell much from the pics. If any CF C3 forum members are seriouly considering this car, I can go over and check it out. One thing that looked funny to me is it appears like it has a 70 right front egg crate grille. No mounting screws on the lower trim.
You would think so, but I saw a smallblock with factory AIR missing being judged at a national NCRS meet. At the time I was surprised that he was having his car judged minus the AIR. I was more surprised when I saw the same car a few weeks later displaying a Top Flight (tm) award. I asked him how that was possible, and he explained that he took the full hit for missing AIR but the car was otherwise nearly perfect and still scored enough points to win Top Flight.
Nice, but $40K? Is this car really worth that? It's hard to see but the numbers on the stamp pad don't look right.
I agree, numbers don't look right. I'd like to see a close-up, but from what I can see, the serial # and the assembly date/engine code seem to be switched around from what they should be. Also looks to be an "L" as the last letter in the suffix. That would point to "CJL" (270 hp) as the engine code.
Nice paint, but as pointed out, not real clean underneath. This is almost a twin to the '71 LT-1 vert I sold a few months ago (for considerably less).
Seeing 70 LT1's for 65K and the reggie jackson one not meet reserve at 54K, I'd say 40K for this one ain't bad.
With that said, ALWAYS CHECK THEM OUT IN PERSON!!!
BTW, 70 front grilles could have made it to a 71. Even one 70 and one 71 style. This guy had a great looking 70 BB donnybrooke green a few months back.

Dennis, That's the first I have heard of something like that, but even if you are correct, I bet they fit better than this.

But this '71 is vin 20,448, damn near at end of production. Not much chance that it would have one style of each.

Your right there. Looks like two 70 grilles. Would seem strange to replace the later screw type,(also much cheaper), with the 70 studded version which I can tell you are hard to find and really expensive in any condition
