Replacing seat back release button

Replacing seat back release button
My seat back release button popped off, its made of plastic so it is shot. Are they pop-riveted on or how do I go about replacing it? Any help, pointers would be appreciated it. It is on a 77 vette.

As I recall, mine was made of metal and held on by a small screw. You will need to remove the plastic seat back then open the seat cover at the upper part of the back (see photo) to get to it. You need to remove the bezal that is around the button also.
