Hi guys, first thanks for all the help as I toy with my first Corvette. This forum has been a huge source of info and I really appreciate it!!
I've started doing an interior restore on my 78, just basically fixing some little problems and sprucing things up. With your help I've fixed my courtesy light problem, put a window back on track, and fixed the glove box lock.
The next phase is to replace the broken clock and update the bezel to one that will fit a cd player. While taking the old bezel out, I found this box/flasher thing, and it seems to me it should be attached to something. It's basically just flopping around behind the bezel. What is it? the car had a june 1978 "insurance man" car alarm on it, and I've been slowly removing all the parts related to it. This isn't part of that is it? I know, I need an AIM. I'm working on it!
That's the electronic gizmo box for the pulse wipers, should be screwed to the hump. YES, you need the AIM now!
P.S: When you get your AIM, PM me your email address and I'll send you an Excel index file I made for it. Makes it easier to find stuff.
Awesome! Thanks! So this thing could be the reason my wipers stay on until you pull the fuse? If they are off, they are fine, but once you turn them on, they stay that way until you break power to the circuit. When the fuse is replaced, they go back down and stay in the off position. Would I need to replace the whole box, or just the removable flasher? Something is sticking...could also be the switch on the dash...or perhaps just having this guy in there loose is causing it to ground out when it shouldn't?
