First timer at car shows.
Ignore them, smile, and go on. Never try to correct them. Nod politely and hopefully they will walk away.
Two ladies waiting for an airplane. The one begins telling all about her kids who are the best at whatever. "That's nice, dear," from the other lady.
The first tells about her successful business and how she is the best. "That's nice, dear," from the other lady.
The first tells how she owes it all to the University she attended and finished so high in. "That's nice, dear," from the other lady.
Then the first lady asked, "where did you go to school?"
"I went to the Miss Marcy's Finishing School for Girls."
The first lady goes, "Oh, and what did you learn there?"
"We learned to say 'That's nice, dear' instead of 'Who gives a ....'"
Remember this joke, and you will do well at the car show.

75 Red Vert: How do i get involved in that one, i would love to drive up there and go.
Good thing with this show is that you can leave anytime you want to and even take a drive around scenic Columbia and return to the show. Wife and I usually just polish and wipe on the vettes, then drink a few refreshments, then wipe some more (hers is black), and bs with the people there.
I'll be parking with the STL Sharks this year and you won't be able to miss us.
Lots of fun and the auction on Saturday night gets a little rowdy.

p.s. You can also go to Hemmings.com and in the events calendar plug in dates and state and you can come up with a few in your area, Branson & KC, for upcoming events. There is also one in Hannibal MO in May that is loads of fun, a 2 day event with a BBQ, lots of food booths, etc. that we have been to for the last three years.

But unless you are some **** retentive type, the best thing you can do at a show is to let the kids get in them. They need to be told what to touch and not touch, but tell their mom or dad they can have their picture in it and you will change the course of the car hobby. Those kids will remember that.
I went to a Corvette only show about 5 years ago with a buddy and we were drooling over this white split window when the owner turned and said, "You wanna sit in it?" I was floored and jumped in the car. I just sat in the car taking it all in, then my buddy had a turn. A little while later we were chatting and I realized that I didn't look out the rear view mirror to see just how bad the view was obstructed. 3 years later I was at that same show with my Corvette. I'm 30 this year, so I don't know that I really fall into the "kid" category as you mean, but it still had a lasting impact on me.
Of course, at my first show I had to shoot some dirty looks in the way of some old timers because they stood next to my car having a conversation and then started knocking on the font fender. After they realized I saw them they took off.

btw how can anyone think these cars are not in good taste. I wanna puke everytime i see a damn import goin down the road with a muffler that i could fit my head in and hums like some chop sticks were left in it. I love these cars and wouldnt trade it for anything else in the world. Thanks 75 Red Vert, i will try to make it to as many of those shows as possible. I will have to hit you up (showing my age haha) before i go.

Had three vettes back in the mid 60's to mid 70's. Bought the first one at age 23. Just bought vette number 4, a 71 vert last week. Don't care about going to a show to get judged in order to win a $2.50 trophy but do enjoy the fun of cruise-ins and just plain cruising.
