My son and I will soon be doing a tranny swap, auto to T10. I was told that I can use my stock console and just replace the shifter plate to that of a 4 speed. Can someone please post a picture of this so I have an idea what to look for. Thanks folks........
Thanks Rich. Just wanted to make sure. I saw one on ebay for $14.00 Will the auto shifter plate on my console pop out in order to be replaced with the 4 speed? Can the boot be bought seperately?

The 4-speed plate is just a sticker. Underneath the indented area that it sits, is a long narrow groove which the auto transmission would use for the gear selection indicator. There is only one shift plate made, it functions for both the auto and manual cars.

Do you mean the large plastic shift plate? If so, yes it is held in by six screws. You will have to remove 3 screws from each carpeted side panel. In order to get the rear screws, you might have to remove the seats. Once those are out there are two screws holding the plate in on each side, then two attaching it to the gauge cluster.
