Default New Edelbrock shocks

Outstanding new rear shocks, Edelbrock IAS Performers. I tried KYB(too stiff), Gabriel air adjust(too soft, not good for cars), Bilstein(too wooshy, don't flame me!), the Edelbrocks work perfect for my lowered set up....Try them! Summit 74.95..

I did all 4 last year [89.99 screwed by ecklers] but it was like a transformation. The combination of a nice stiff feel on smooth roads without getting beat to death on the rough ones is something I didn't think was possible with a C-3. My WIFE noticed the difference A buddy of mine has an F-350, I think a 10in lift or something, and a regular size cab with these things and IT rides nice. Had to feel a little sorry for him though. I think his where 3 or $400 each....

You guys are buying names and the name dont even make the shock. Do you think Edelbrock is making shocks? You spending 2-4 times more for shocks than you need to from speed shops. Go to your local auto parts stores, A company that supplies OEM and the aftermarket is Monroe, they make um and there are others too.

That may well be, but I went through a couple of sets before finding what worked for my set up. They are also powder coated instead of paint,so a couple of extra bucks is worth it..

Edelbrock does make these themselves. They bought the company that came up with the inertia valve and now own the patent on it. A $19 monroe is not the same thing at all.

Smart man. Edelbrock has a patented system here unique to anything else. The best way to describe it is to say it's a manual version of an active shock. No electrics to work that valve at light speed but it must open & shut damn fast. And one thing tells you that better than anything else. Your BUTT.........

Default great shocks

I agree with the above about the Edelbrock shocks. I have them all around and the ride is great. Big difference.

How would you compare Edelbrock IAS with Bilstein HD?

The Bilstien seemed to luxury, maybe a little slow to respond, like driving a 50's Cadillac, but that could be I'm lowered and the shock not loaded properly. I don't know...The Edelbrock seems to adapt better...

Been looking at these shocks.

Does anyone have them with the dual mount rear spring and transverse front spring setups?

The c4s come with Bilsteins. I have replaced mine and they are excellent. I have a set of Edelbrocks sitting in the garage waiting for spring for the 72. I researched them and others before buying. I talked to parts men and also went online with end users. The consensus here is correct: you get what you pay for.

When it comes to my babies, I tend to lean toward quality. And I think that, for most of the guys here, like me, they tend to buy the best they can afford for their corvettes.

I looked at Summit, and they are now $85.99 (for my 1970 anyway). I did some looking around and found them at anythingauto.com for $78.95. They have a special going right now, if you order before 02/04, you get free shipping, and they will knock 10% off your order (if over $199)!

To get the discount, you have to enter 'SUPERSAVE' into the “Enter Coupon Code” box.

Just hope that you don't have a problem with any edelbrock products. Their customer service sucks. My brother paid $500 for a set of their stainless headers for his 98 trans am. When we had problems with them fitting to the y-pipe (which they were supposed to), they basically didn't want anything to do with it.
