Old Indy car trick. In the 60's engine builders reversed the crank, cam and heads w/FI bolted where you would expect to see the exhaust. The headers came out the top of the motor in what was described as a "bundle of snakes". This was obviously done to early rear engined cars and not roadsters. /:\
This guy lives near me. He's a real engine guy LOVES to tinker with stuff.
Has patents, now expired for Hondas VTEC. Also has done a lot of work on direct acting cams, and other stuff.
Is that Whoopi Goldberg in the black leather jacket checking it out?
So the engine runs in reverse, the exhaust ports are now intake ports, the intake ports are now exhaust, and the coolant runs through cast iron pipes to the back of the engine.

Supposedly, there is a thermodynamics principle here because heat rises, so exhaust out the top is faster. I read that probably 40 years ago. But when you are running 6000 rpm or so, I just can't see the speed of heat rising being a factor.
