I have read posts here from 2 different people that started using regular Valvoline and now have switched to Valvoline Extended mileage, which basically is oil for a worn out engine. Do you think if they started with better oil, they may not have switched to the extended mileage Valvoline?

My wife's Camry, which had Pennzoil since new so I stuck with it when we bought the car, started the blue smoke start up around 65k. Went to Maxlife with it an got the same results as the Vette. I think I'll stay with Valvoline. To bad all engines have to wear.......

Perhaps. I can't claim Pennzoil is the best for all. I've owned my car for almost 12 years. No blue smoke. It's 27 years old, original engine, and about 154 thousand miles on it and runs great to this day. I never fix what "ain't broke".
The Shell Rotella had the Good stuff formula, plenty of zinc and other helpful elements. I say had because tthey've changed the formula. There are even little green leaves on the label now. I bought the last two jugs from our local autozone. I'll be looking for the diesel oil that still has protective elements.
What are you going to do in a few thousand miles when you run out of oil?
