Anybody know where one can buy Rick Bizzoco's '69 Guidebook? Is it out of print? I've recently begun a body off restoration of my 69 and it seems as if it would be a perfect addition to my Corvette library shelf. Thanks, Rick

I just got to chapter 5-6 and can't seem to under stand WHY all the details about the original tires....?
With all the hype in the last few years about not driving on tires older than 6 years, what's the benefit of all this info ?
I would think if a 69' vette was driven even only a little bit, by 1979 the original tires HAD to be TOAST !!!!
The only thing i can think of is using it to ID if the spare was real? My car has a Bias-ply RED line tire tucked in the spare holder. It is soooo Old i can never use it, but it is neat to see and know i guess.
I guess reading all the info at nauseous levels made me wonder why anyone would care if you CAN'T drive a car on a tire that was put on the car back in 69'....?????
The book has a lot of information...maybe too much when it comes to certain topics. I've not found it to be all that helpful when it comes to actual restoration work..like fasteners, correct surface finishes, etc. It was not written to help the restorer, but rather relay the wealth of knowledge the author accumulated regarding the '69. I borrowed a copy, but would not buy one because it would likely just sit on the shelf for years
Hi fz,
I think the information is there as a matter of information
At times cars are presented for a type of judging that requires that the cars only be driven on to the judging field. Some people mount 40 year old tires for that very short trip. For different judging which includes road miles, a different set of tires can be used on the car.
Regards,
Alan
Its expensive, but it was an invaluable resource. It really breaks down the little known design differences between '68 and '69, as well as the different "early vs late" issues you don't really know about until your '69 looks like this:
If you are doing a '69 it's a must-have. (Dobbins' and the NCRS JG are, too)

So your complaint is there's too much information? Uh, OK.
I can't recall a reference book where the assumption was, don't include information about parts you might not be able to use anymore. If the tires are boring you, try reading some of the other spectacular '69 information provided.
That's funny.. I never paid attention to what i was typing, i will now.
Thanx everyone for the answers..... I knew someone would provide an example of how that info would get used to verify something in the real world.
