Default Painted T-tops?

Does anyone know if either A. you can paint glass t tops, or if anyone makes a fiberglass t-top instead. I would like to have body colored tops on my car.

I think it would be difficult to get the paint to stick on the glass for any length of time, and yes, there are solid t-tops available, glass tops were an option. Peace,,,Moosie

I don't know if I'd paint glass t-tops. You would be better off selling the glass ones and finding a used set of fiberglass t-tops to paint to match. I think glass t-tops are more expensive. You might try a vendor that sells used fiberglass t-tops.

Well I'm not ready to paint it yet, nor have I seen what I can sell the glass for, and what the fiberglass cost. But if I do my research and its a good deal, you'll be hearing from me.

I eventually want to get glass t-tops to go along with my original fiberglass ones. Have the best of both worlds.

What color is your vette, you maybe able to trade w/a member who has the same color so you won't need to paint the tops. I have true red ones and I'm looking for more head room w/the glass tops.

The glass ones suck. They aren't worth squat. $20 bucks tops.
When you get your fiberglass ones, let me know and I'll pay the shipping to take them off your hands.

Fiberglass tops painted body color were always standard on the coupes; glass tops were optional.

You should be able to find a good pair of fiberglass tops on ebay or at a swap meet.

Your probably the ony guy I ever heard of that wants to do this, its kind of backwards. Usually, me included start out with fiberglass and wind up searching for the LOF mirrored glass type. I'm just curious.

If you want them it'll take a lot more than 20 dollars...I checked ebay and found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-...QQcmdZViewItem
as well as several others going for 300 a piece various places around the web. Mine are in perfect shape weather stripping included, like I said as well, I'm not looking to make the move immediately. Its still a distant plan. I also told sixfooter that he would be first if I go through with it. So I'm gonna pretend I never heard 20 dollars tops, considering you can't buy a good airfilter for that.

It was a joke, man. . .

I just bought 1 earlier this year because of a broken one. I know what they're worth. . .

I need the extra head room. IN the heat of day I have these inserts from Midamerica that just pop in.
