Default Head light question

I have a 69 and i was wondering where i should get some new headlights from.. Do i have to change the whole light or is it just a bulb?? The 2 outside lights are working and the 2 inner lights arent. Are those my brights??? Over all i want to replace all 4.. where and what should i get??

Thanks

Autozone, Advance, your normal part places should have the bulbs. They are the entire glass light. Yes, the two inside ones are your brights.

Mine are sealed beams so I would assume you replace the unit on yours too...

Mine were doing that a while ago and it was actually the dip switch that was broken and so the high beams coudn't work. Might be worth checking that before you replace the lights...

I put in standard Halogen bulbs in all 4 of mine. I was amazed at how much brighter it was. They are just regular 4 headlight systems. Nothing special needed.

I am gonna get the halogens for it.. The 2 that work the beam is an ugly yellow!!!

So If i replace them all... I need low beams for the outside and high beams for the inside???

Inners are high beam. Odd to have them both go at the same time. Have you checked the switch?

Fog must be a frequent occurrence in your area for someone to have put in yellow lights. You should check that the "bright" lamp sockets are working when you get them apart (try one of the low-beam bulbs in a high-beam socket). You may have a switch, wiring, or relay problem with the high-beam lamps.

On a '69 as I have the dimmer switch is located to the far left, near the kick panel. Pull the carpet back and you will see a small black pedal. Under the pedal you will find the switch.
Good Luck!

I replaced my original T3's with a set from Lectric Limited. They look original but perform much better. http://www.lectriclimited.com/mainpage.htm

My advice would be to order a reproduction owner's manual (if you don't have an original) and read through it. Things like high beam operation are discussed and explained in the owner's manual.
