Been looking at pics of some really nice Vettes, just wondering, what do you think of having rear louvers on a vette? I love having them on my car, but you have to learn to see behind, its like sitting in a cave.lol

I bought a three piece louver set off of ebay...it is metal...for my 78 project car. I don't know if I'll actually keep them, but I'm going to give them a try. Three sets are up on ebay right now. Thanks for the interior pic...I really didn't have an idea of what viewing through a louvered rear window was like.

My rear window also has a heavy tint and even at night there is no problem seeing out.
Bought my louvers from

They sell both the heavy duty ABS plastic (like I have) and the aluminum.
I ran a set of these plastic louvers on my Camaro for 23 years in every kind of weather, car wash, etc. you can do and never ever had the slightest problem, just use a little Armorall once in a while to keep the shine and there you go. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1619573

I think they look cool on a 71 to 84 Mustang. The c3 vette already has such classic swoops & flairs that IMHO the louvered rear window distracts from the lines. But, that's my opinion...Don't flame me

I agree the C3 styling is the best. But here in Thailand the average year round temps are a killer and all that glass in the back can create oven like interiors.

I really liked them......until I saw they were $265. OUCH!
Seriously, I've been looking for somebody that was making these brand new in that basic style instead of the three piece aluminum ones that have different sides than back. I just don't know if I would like them once I had them on the car and at that price I can't afford to "try" them; I'd have to be pretty dedicated to them up front. I think they look good on your vette in the pics, just not sure I would like them on my vette in real life. I'd want to paint them to match the vette too.
