I have a 71 with a bad frame (bent in a wreck). If I could find another frame, what other years would fit? Any ideas on where I could find a frame and what it would cost? Any other options? Problem is, I am on a budget. (I know, corvettes and budgets don't mix)

You can go up to 73 without some major changes to the rear frame rails if you use a later frame 74 up. And you need to stick with an automatic if the car came with it vs. a manual.I used a 78 for my 73 like I said there was work to be done to the frame rails.

With basic metalworking skills a '63 to '79 can be made to work under any of those year bodies without alot of hassle. If you are doing a frame off matching number resto, disregard the above statement.

Your budget should be at least $1,500 for a chrome bumper frame, probably more by now. I paid that for a frame back in Sept. 2006 and I'm sure the prices have risen since. If you find a good frame for a somewhat reasonable price jump on it. Since you are in Cal. there might be a better selection of good frames.
