Default Restoration progress

It goes a lot slower than one would expect but... things are finally going back in. Front frame and suspension are in. Brakes and steering linkage next weekend (I hope!). Then I get to tear out the rear end. Luckily I think I'm going to have the differential rebuilt somewhere and get new offset trailing arms, so it should take not time at all

Far from professional, but I am just happy to start seeing some results. Thanks to all who answer my numerous stupid questions.

More or less what I started with:

Engine compartment finally painted!

I don't think I'll be ready by summer... maybe winter? Someday

Great progress there. I'm looking forward to putting mine back on the road in a couple of weeks after painting and detailing the engine compartment.

That looks sharp. Smart idea to go with the flat black, shows less imperfections and less reflective.

If you stand 5 or 10 feet away, you can see all of the imperfections in my not so perfect fiberglass repair jobs. There are corner areas that are very obviously filled with body filler but not sanded down very well. I gave up and moved on. I'm hoping with all the junk in the compartment it won't be noticeable. But it is functional!

I remember seeing the pictures of your painted engine compartment - it looks insanely good. I would have liked to have gone ahead and made it body color when I painted the body. Mine is a few coats of blitz black that I hope hide my sub-par repair efforts.
