turbo C3
got such a nice deal, I had to buy it
my first vette after much study. hardly any rust, it had to live inside.
its funny my dad got the 73 I was trying to get and I got this one within a week of each other. the 73 is a tad rough but the frame is solid
they are both L-48 but his 73 is 4-speed, manual brake, manual steer
yellow/black leather
the 75 is about as garden variety as it gets
white/leather oxblood tilt, electric, a/c, power,
someone did a pretty good job replacing the nose and tail sections with fiberglass. all the panels fit well and the doors shut tight
anyways here are some crappy pictures but you get the idea
cant wait to begin

I have a stack of 8 of those exact '70s vintage wheels sitting in the corner of my garage.
I think they are 7's. I'd like to find some 8's for the rear

If you don't mind my asking - how much?
dad got the 73/four-speed for 1500

There's nothing wrong with that car that a LS1 and a 6-speed can't fix.
I have too much small block stuff already. LS is a hell of an engine tho
the 350/M-21 I used in my truck that has already proven itself
I have reciepts for this car having new engine and trans rebuild.
so I will start with the brakes/chassis and just drive it some.
heres the test mule for the pickup 11:1 350 brodix heads
66 vette intake
heres one with the 3 barrel on my offy tunnelram. that sure woke it up

finally started putting the rear back together
everything was glassbeaded, POR-15'd, and epoxy'd
360 VBP monospring, 2"offset T/A's, and heavy duty camber rods
the originals were all toast also made a heavy duty spring plate
hopefully I'll get the rest of the brakes done this week
tinkered on the engine also. it appears to be a freshly rebuilt truck 350
there was no carbon in the ports and the tranny looks new too

well....
got to drive the car some this week
the brakes on this car are INCREDIBLE.
I was surprised at how well a stock engine scoots the car right along
and the ride quality is very comfortable. of course I have nothing to reference since this is my first vette the glass spring suits me fine
the tires I chose were 235/60 on what turned out to be "75 Fentons
wheels come and go but I liked them so they stay for now
the frontend seemed pretty tight and all the bushings looked good so I just detailed everythig, did the brakes/bearings,and greased the fittings
I guess I'll rebuild it when I decide what stuff to use

Somebody put some work into that.
Should have put at least 2 more u - joints in there!

yea I cant believe I got by with only 3 joints
I plan on using borgeson joints to replace the moroso units
the moroso joints are holding up fine but are better suited for drag
building the turbo headers around it wasnt fun either
and yes the vette will get at least one turbo too

update on new engine build
the 350 truck engine that was in the car when I bought it has developed a noise, so I decided on a 283 single turbo and a 4-speed conversion.
I already have all of the trans stuff laying around and it will make the car more enjoyable for me. the 283 should be easy on the drivetrain due to lack of torque, but I should be able to squeeze some power out of it with boost. the car will keep the A/C.
eagle SIR rods. Speed Pro forged flat tops ,forged #5822 factory crank
#041 heads with 983 comp springs and new stock replacement valves.
anyone ever broken one of these blocks?
I used one in a monza and it loved to rev, but not sure how the 2 bolt caps will stand boosting. I figure an occasional 500 hp with ARP studs.
the blower guys have warned me to stay below 10psi but turbos are somewhat easier on parts with no torsional loading of the crankshaft.
this may be a recipe for disaster, I guess we'll have to see

big thanks to Volunteer Vette for the quick (and free) delivery of my manual trans changeover kit #PE30 nice stuff indeed and alot of it
the engine machinework is finally getting finished, hope I can put it together soon. I dont think the 350 has much bearing left.
any suggestions for an aftermarket A/C system?
mine came with A/C but I need the space under the hood in the evaporator area.
