I just finished modifying the passenger bracket to not only hold an alternator but deleting the smog delete pulley. I cut the bracket down so it still provided support but was unobtrusive. I think it looks very good.
The belt turned out to be 3/4" shorter than the belt that came with this '92 Camaro serp system. It's just about perfect, and best of all they are only $19.99 each so I will have a spare in the car.
I liked how the second alt nestled in the A/C compressor pocket nicely after I drilled it's own mount hole. It almost looks factory there.
First, the way it was when I still had the A/C delete pulley and the smog delete pulleys in place. You can see how much of that bracket I had to chop off.
Oh, and my girlfriend says hi to all my forum friends.

Thank you very much. Yes, this is going in my '77. It's a 1974 400, bored +.020, full roller conversion, LT1 EFI and a Camaro serp system. I love serp as you can see.
I figure it this way. I can buy and install one large CS144, which is good and all, or I can mount the two CS130s. With the two, neither will ever have to work at full capacity and they won't over heat. I'll have 120 amps at idle, and 200 amps at RPM. I won't ever have to worry about draining my battery while in town cruising at low RPMs and the stereo going.
That thing looks great D-boy.
what's the ETA for completion? Don't you boys have some kind of big vette show coming this spring??
The car's gonna be back on the road this spring easy, but I won't get that new motor and trans in until fall. I've not had any luck getting the manifold machined to fit, and I still haven't had the harness made or the chip flashed.
Just curious, is the serpentine belt more reliable or more durable than traditional belts. I only have an alternator, power steering pump, water pump, and crank pulleys. Could I change all of the pulleys to serpentine style, measure the loop, put a serpentine belt on, and use the alternator as the tensioner? It might even look cool. Do they make serpentine pulleys for my short water pump setup? I don't want to spend $500 for brackets just to run serpentine. I have a 96 truck engine in the garage I can raid pulleys off of.
Durango Kidd, I'm glad your getting work done, the engine looks good. You should replace one of those alternators with a supercharger, just a thought.
