What it amounted to was an empty lens shaped just like out headlights but you could add an H4 halogen bulb to it. It made the lights really look bright.
I have tried the inexpensive conversion and it did help a little.
I still don't like to drive at night, there are a lot of deer crossing the roads. That would be a mess!
Durango I really like the look of your lights!
Where did you get them and if you don't mind what was the cost?
Any mods required for them to fit?

Thanks. I found them in an auction a year ago on Ebay. I believe it was a search for Dodge Charger stuff but they are the same size as Corvette headlights.
They have a perfectly clear face, reflector inside, hold new style bulbs, and have the halo which I really dig. They were pretty cheap, maybe $60 after shipping for two pairs.
To install them, I had to enlarge the hole at the back of the bucket. You'd see and understand when you go that far how much to make it bigger.
Other than that you just have to buy a pair of high beam two prong bulbs for the inside set.
I went a few steps further. I wired all the halos up as one circuit I can turn on with a switch so I can run the halos as it's getting dark, and then turn them off and the lights on as needed. I also modified my headlights so I have four full time low beam bulbs. I haven't workout how to make the brights work but that's of little priority since I never use brights.
They do not look bright enough to drive with the halo alone, therefore, when would you use them?
Only before it gets dark. In that hour long period before it gets dark, where the halos would stand out but before you need headlights to see. Dusk.
The halos are not bright enough to see by, and they disappear when the headlights are turned on, so I installed a switch to turn them off when I turn on the headlights.

This is what I have now Paul. As a matter of fact I bought some extras just to have out in the garage. Only vehicle I have that uses this type of bulb anymore. Funny thing about it, when I went to the parts store to buy these lights, I bought every one they had on the shelf. I changed all four of my lights and then came back later when they got more in stock and got one high beam and one low beam just to have. They are nice lights for sure.
The headlights are yes, but the halos are not meant for night time driving, so the halos only for night driving will get you pulled over, but not the headlights.
You just have to replace the bulbs. If you order two pair, they will both come with three prong bulbs. If you replace the inners with two prong high beam bulbs you solve the problem.

Okay, sounds simple. I might have to get a second case of beer for you on this one!
