Halogen Conversion Headlights
I was just watching a show on TV and they are doing some restoration work on a 65 mustang. They were working on the headlights and they had something pretty cool that I think I need. He had some halogen conversion headlights. It was a clear lens that bolts right in the place of our headlights but, they were made to accept halogen bulbs. Has anyone seen this yet? I think this would be a pretty cool mod to our vettes, any thoughts.
I put in standard halogen bulbs in mine years ago. They are way brighter than the standard bulbs. Nothing fancy just regular halogens. I'd like to know exactly what you are talking about. Are they the new high intensity lights that are on some of the new cars?

What it amounted to was an empty lens shaped just like out headlights but you could add an H4 halogen bulb to it. It made the lights really look bright.
You can actually find them with no lines or texture on the lens. Just a flat crystal clear surface. I have some, that will accept the H4 style bulbs but they have Bimmer style halos around the edges.

That still is not exactly like they had on the show. The ones they were using had a small reflector just in front of the H4 bulb and it bounced the light back into the big reflector. They really looked nice. Like Durango said, the lens was smooth and showed no lines in it.

Did they look like this but without the halo and blue bulb?
Many threads in here on healight conversions. Its a very good one to do, swap in the Halogen lamps and add in the relay kit for a better voltage to the lamps

Those are very close. The ones they showed almost had a tri-bar design across the front of the lens but yours are the closest I have seen so far. How good are they?

Wonderful. Here are more pics. The first photo is with the headlights on...the rest are just halos.
I watched the episode (DCR 509) and they never gave credit to the headlamp manufacturer during the dialog or on the DIY website...taillamps yes, but not the headlamps. I tried all of the sponsored web sites on the episode page and found the fog lamp bar, but again not the headlamps.
I searched this forum for "headlamp conversions" too and got nada??
Personally I like the cleaner look of Durango Boy's better than what went into the Stang. Where did you get them?
