Hi all , Can anyone suggest a product that I can use on external black plastic trim to keep it black and shiney? I am looking for something that I can get locally at Walmart, Autozone etc
Thanks for your help
there is nothing you can put on that will keep it nice and shiney.all the products out there are only a quick fix it will fade out as soon as you wash the car or it gets rained on.
the bright green bottle at walmart might be called FINISH 2000 it doesnt leave it all greasy like some other products, just a nice clean rubber look. I use it on everything. Here is a before and after onmy quad. I didn't even wash it between spraying it and wiping it down. Here it is http://www.turtlewax.com/img/products/pop_2_1_3_4_1.jpg

Surprise! There IS a product for plastic (and vinyl) that will stay shiny and live in the sun, rain, washes for many months. Try a product called "Nu-Vinyl". It is made by the same company as Nu-Finish, but you can't buy it a auto supply stores (don't know why). Get it at Ace or True-Value hardware stores; you may have to ask them to order it, as it may not be stocked..but they can get it. About $7 a bottle; thin milky liquid; all you do is spray some on a clean cloth and wipe it on. Let it dry (about 2-3 minutes). That's it. No buffing, no rubbing, no plastic degradation (like petroleum based Armor-All, etc.). It's also the best thing for vinyl seats, interior trim, etc., etc. Sorry, Cub Cadet, something like this really does exist.
P.S. For those who don't believe it, you have to try it before you turn "thumbs down". (I am not a dealer or have any stake in the business. I just know a really great product when I use it.)
Cub Cadet: You won't be sorry you tried it. Everyone I have shown this product wants MY bottles...they don't want to wait to get some. It IS as good as described.

It really works, spread it on and let it sit for a while so the oils soak in then wipe it off and buff. It will last for quite a few washes, maybe 6 months or so and is very easy to get (sold anywhere).
I use Skippy Creamy.
I don't think Chunky would be as easy to use.
I went to Walmart last night and picked up the Mothers Back to Black , It worked really well , Brought the plastic up nice , I guess it will fade again over time but its not a big deal to give them a quick wipe over after each wash.
The New-Vinl stuff sounds good too , I will look for it next time I am in Ace and give it a try.
Thanks very much to all who posted replies.
(Truck looks great now -- SsHHH Don't tell anyone I wasn't asking about the vette - didn't want to get moved to OT )
