Default 1970 Corvette Code 411 Bright Blue Question

I have a 70 big block that has the code 411 Bright blue interior. Over the years, I have owned four 70 Corvettes with the Bright blue interior and I have noticed that all the interior pieces are not the same color. In this current vehicle, as with the others, the kick panels, the hand brake console, the steering column, the map pockets, and the vinyl seat material is a darker blue. The rest of the interior trim is the true Bright Blue, including the carpet.

I have seen 70's that have been done over in Bright Blue, and in these cases, all the interior parts match in color, which is fine and it looks great, but it is not original. Also, if you order new seat covers using the 1970 interior code 411, the covers will come in Bright Blue, which are actually lighter in color than the originals.

My question is, does anyone know the color of the darker blue interior pieces and is that color available through any of the Corvette supply houses? If I purchase the Bright Blue interior paint through one of the Corvette suppliers, like Eckler's for instance, and paint the interior pieces, then they will all match.

I am not a purist and I will paint all the pieces the same color, but I would just like to know if others have seen this, if the darker paint is available, and if this is documented somewhere?

I've seen this exact problem, with my '69 bright blue interior. The original colors seem darker and less "metallic" than the available rattle can of interior dye.

Couple things to think about: Apparently wide color variation in individual pieces was common from factory. Also, you might be able to have an interior dye custom made, matched to an original interior piece. See an auto paint store.

411 is dark blue for the '68 models. 411 is in my '68 and is definitely darker than "bright blue." 411 is not as dark as the later midnight blue.

My advice would be to take a piece of your existing trim with the color you want to any SEM automotive interior dye provider and have them match the color. SEM is good quality dye. Have them mix a quart and DIY.
