Default Adding AC?

Has anyone tried to add AC to a C3 that was not factory equipped for air? I'm wondering how difficult and expensive it is? If anyone has experience with this, I'd appreicate hearing from you.
Thanks

Do a search in C3 General for "vintage air" and a number of threads will come up. Here is a good one:

Do you want add-on air or factory air? I am putting the parts together for a factory air installation on my '68 with plans to convert to R134a as I go.

Do you have the assembly instruction manual? The AIM shows the entire factory air installation.

I added factory a/c to a non-air car. You have to have the nose off and plug the air vent on the drivers side and add the flapper to the passenger side. I used a stock early inside box and an 82 outside box to get the cycling, orfice-tube system. You have to grind the fan housing just a little to use that evaporator box in a bumper car. Overall if I had a complete car, I would probably add a Vintage Air type underdash system.

I'm doing the exact same thing on my 71' with an 80' outside box etc. So far I've just collected the parts. But why do you have to take the "nose" (front clip?) off to do the conversion?

I'm using a '76-early box, inside and out. No grinding.

To plug the drivers side air vent, which you don't have to do. Also to add the max air flapper on the right side cowl. I don't see how you can do that with the nose on.
