Not being a rich man, I always look at price first. Then I look at quality. If quality is to where I could not live with it then I might be persuaded to buy a more expensive product, but price is the first thing I look at.

Everything but price. Owning a Corvette is NOT a budget-builders best bet

Quality - Will it work when I get it.

Availability - I want it yesterday.

Price - They all charge about the same anyway.

Every time I try to go the cheaper route in the end it costs me more for replacement parts. Go for the quality and only buy it once .

I look for suppliers (rare it seams) that don't rip you on shipping and handling.

All of the above, but price has a lot to do with it if it is the same product.

The parts wouldn't be nearly so painful to buy if they didn't rub salt in the wound and then screw you on the shipping

For the sake of the poll, that's a given. This is more about apples and oranges, not oranges vs oranges. I should have been more clear.

I look at all three, usually price first. But maybe there should have been a choice marked

Reputation/customer service

There's a couple of vendors I've avoided just from the problems members have mentioned here. And I've had bad experiences trying to order from a couple myself. I know they won't go broke from loosing my $400 or $500, but they've probably lost future money from me also.

I look for the part that fits from ANY OTHER MODEL CAR so I don't get the corvette tax rammed up my tailpipe!

There are so many inexpensive (and CHEAP quality) parts available now, you almost have to disregard them. If it's a part that takes "load", it better be made by a reputable source. It'll run today...but not for long.

How so? There are dozens of companies making parts for the Vettes. That drives the prices down. It's cheaper and MUCH easier to finish building the Vette than my '77 Ventura.

Price is definitely first, but you have to be smart enough to either walk the line between quality and price or know to take it easy on the cheaper parts you buy. Some people are just too clumsy to buy cheap parts.
