RPO R007 first appeared back in the early 70's as part of the "Comfort convienience and radar evasion" option package. It was quite popular when combined with the higher HP engines and the highway axle ratios. The cloaking device was problematic in service and usualy failed soon after the warranty expired. These days it is common to find the switches have been converted to energize the rear window defogger. These changes were made many years ago by previous owners and Chevrolet service departments. Unfortunately most of the techs that did these modifications are retired now so it has become a problem for current owners to repair the cloaking device. Nobody knows how to work on these old systems anymore. The engineers that designed them are all working on the next generation stealth projects for the military so they can not publicly offer any official support. It is best to leave the switches as they are now and hope that any potential fututre buyers are unaware of the original function assigned to the switches. If you want to protect the value of your investment, we need to keep this info to ourselves.

Hope this helps.
