Default 69 vette with 72 seats

I was going to buy seat covers and foam this week. I was looking at Al Knock photo's and realized the seats were different. I find out that I have 72 seats in the car. Any idea on what to do? Am I going to have to buy new 69 seat frames? Or will someone exchange them? Let me know. How much do new frames run?

Thanks

Why not just put new '72 covers on the seats you have? If you really want to switch them out for original seats, you would have better luck selling the ones you have with them in good shape. Fix them, install them, use them. Then you can show them off and see if someone wants to buy or swap for them. If you come across some '69 seats quickly, switch them and put yours on the CF "For Sale" site.

I feel your pain!
i have exactly the same problem.
my interior other than dash and console is out of a 72
saddle leather
from what im hearing the 69 seats were uncomfotable and many chucked them for a better seat.
im thinking of getting a nice set of recaro seats since the ones in the car arent correct for that year.

Must be crowded in there.

What's the big deal? Are you going NCRS? If not, do they look good, or will they look good with new covers? 90% of the people who see your car will never know. 8% may notice they look different than other '69 Corvettes they have seen, but figure they might be the deluxe or custom interior seats. 2% will know.

Of that 2%, 80% will be sure to tell you they are "wrong" just to let you know how smart they are.

People changed stuff a lot on old Corvettes. Unless you are going for all original and/or NCRS judging, don't worry about it.

That dog don't hunt. 68-77 seat bottoms are essentially the same and are interchangeable. The only real difference in seat backs involves separate headrests (68 and 69) and seat back release latches
and shoulder belts for the other years.

If a '69 seat was uncomfortable, a 70 or a 73 seat would also be uncomfortable. They're the same.

Did you ask Al Knoch if they have any?......I bought mine ('69 black leather) complete, on tracks, ready to bolt in from him. He sometimes has some in stock.
