Fire extinguishers
Reading about some unfortunate experiences with fire got me thinking...
What are you (forum community) using for fire extinguishers that fit and work well in C3's
Any pics / ideas / recomended brands or suppliers?
Better to have and not need ..........................

That is where I'm buying my chrome unit with the seat bracket. What is the difference between the Halon and the Halotron?

I've worked with all types of extinguishers as a volunteer firefighter for the last 18 years. You're right. Foam is a hell of a mess. So is dry chem. CO2 is pretty worthless - might do an initial snuff but the fire will usually come back.
Halon is the best. Will quickly put out most fires and does not leave any residue. I have two in the garage, one in the kitchen and one in my airplane (required.) You can order several sizes from:

I mounted extinguishers on the wheel well hump behind the drivers seat in each of my C3's. Just flip the release and they're out for use.

I researched this last year and decided I wanted the following attributes:
- Dupont FE-36 Halon replacement that is very effective and clean.
- 5 lb. extinguisher for sufficient volume
- A hose for accurate release.
I bought an Ansul Cleanguard FE05 from a local distributor and store it in the long rear compartment of my 81:

I have mine mounted on the front side of the passenger seat like Daytona69 has.
I made my own brackets to mount to the seat frame. I dont have the nice fire extinguisher like he has, but I opted for the cheaper version. I figure I rather have that than none at all.

I'll be buying one out here because of the weight and probable shipping restrictions. But you can still buy BCF out here...
