Got the idea from www.hotrodders.com - it's an air tool holder. Took me about and hour to put together with all the grinding and screwing, but it works great! I couldn't be happier. Built it for nothing out of scrap wood and some angle iron.
I like it, but my stupid **** would always miss the slot and the tool would crash to the bench/ground. I'm always in a rush when working on the car to get as much work done as I can.
Since I don't have a garage to put the car in, I keep a toolbox on wheels around me with deep drawers for all my heavy tools. I should probably wrap them in bubble wrap anyway.
Nice Job

Except mine would be on my head when I bent over the bench to look for another tool!

Both look like good ideas. Got any more details about them? Right now, my air tools are stored in one of those plastic storage bins on the shelf and are a pain in the azz to get too. Therefore they get little use.
I used HArbor Freight Air connectors, you can get them for about $12 for 5, add on 3/8 pipe cap with a hole drilled in it and screwed it to the 2x4 shelf brace. Cost a few bucks, but worked out pretty good and saves a lot of tool box space.

The tools won't fall guys, because I made it out of angle iron. The fiting is prevented from falling thorugh because there is a lip from the angle iron. Haven't had a tool fall, and I never will.
