Check the wire connector on the bottom of the tank for being loose corroded. Pull the wire off the sender and turn on ign. The gauge should peg out past full. Ground the wire and the gauge shodl go to below E. If the gauge doesn't move check power to it or replace the gauge. If it was ok then just stopped look for loose fitting sender connector. Yea... that how salty the roads are! I'll do those checks tomorrow. See what the problem is. Ray up at Corvette Center did the top, it came out very nice. I need to give the car a good scrubbin tomorrow, so I'll take some pictures.
