Default broken window

Whats the saying..."stupid is as stupid does" or something like that. I was redoing my power windows last week and set the passenger door window on top of the t-top opening. you know where this is going huh? well I started it up to adjust something and out of the corner of my eye I see a light reflection of the window sliding off the car.....I was sick. did not even bother to clean it up till the next day. never do that again. anyway finding a window is not that easy. wound up paying $200 plus shipping for a brand new set of matching windows. It really amazes me at 49 years old I can rebuild a engine and stiill be a idiot at the same time.

Put the broken pieces in a box. When you sell the car, tell them you have the original windows glass.

Where did you get the new glass? $100 a side is cheap judging from all the catalogs.

I know that feeling. Not with the windows, but doing something similar that you know should not be done, but you do it anyway. Its sometimes an expensive lesson to learn.

Where did your glass come from? I recently replaced both mine and it had "made in Thailand" labels on them.
More expensive than yours as well as not fitting correctly. The curvature of the glass when the window is up does not match the body curve I am looking to replace them again.

Wow... That sucks, I still have a pass side door left over from my old stash of parts my first '73 of 20 years ago and just bought a pair '73 of doors with very nice glass (all power window parts included) minus the interior from a local guy for $50
I had bought the T tops ...$50 for both, and a rear Diff for $70 last summer from him as well.....

On the 82 just broke my CRACK FREE dash the other night taking it out to repaint it. I didn't know I should heat it first to soften it up. Now I'll be repairing and repainting. By the way, Gorilla glue works great for repair the old vinyl wraped pieces like the t-top center and rear quarter panels.

Sweet deal....those OEM rollers on the glass are $108 for the pair alone...Save your old ones if the replacement galss already has them.
