Anyone replace their carpet recently? if so I was wondering is there is any difference in the quality of replacement carpet out there any advice would be appreciated.
I'd read that some of the carpets out there were pretty flimsy, so I paid more for the set from American Motorworks, thinking it would somehow be better than the Wilcox set (which was cheapest price wise) I have to say I am disappointed. The new carpet is very thin.
I did have Al Knoch redo my steering wheel and am extremely pleased with the both the price and the quality. Next time I"ll get use Al Knoch for carpet too.
I just finished installing mine last night. It came from Willcox and it worked real nice, good quality and it just fell into place for the most part.
I'll post pics as soon as I can.
Try Romeo Engineering, the guy apparently makes very good stuff, and includes the correct "IMCO" label on the heelpad. He claims he's the only one who does this. Prices seem ok, HOWEVER....HE IS SLOW....so make sure he has what you need in stock. I'm not sure of his number, but if you google "Romeo Engineering Corvette", , You should find the site, Good Luck!.If not , Al Knoch always works.
It seems that al knoch is the popular choice it's ironic I was just looking at their site today because they claim to make the best seat covers but wasn't sure since I couldn't see the backs of them specifically the seems I am looking for covers that best match the originals any suggestions?

Talk to them. They make the best interior parts IMHO. I believe you will be happy with them. You may also ask this question on the NCRS site, they can tell you who makes the closest to original right now-but I belive it is still Al Knoch.

I bought mine from Willcox. The carpet set is made by ACC
Al Knoch would be my choice. Call and talk to them. Great people and they will provide the best product. I used them for seats in my 95 and they were perfect.

I install a lot of Corvette carpet. I use Auto Custom Carpets. I bought AL Knochs for my 75 convertible and it was the worst carpet I ever used. The front didn't fit worth a crap. I took it out and installed Auto Custom Carpet and it fit perfect.

Be very careful if you use this guy. Serious mom and pop store. It took, no kidding, 8 months for me to get carpet here and I ordered the basic black. Price was good but it averages out to the other places when you add in his shipping costs. The quality was ok and it fit pretty well.

What did you use the ACC in that was not up to par in quality?
