Default What part is missing?? "72 vert

I have a problem with the front body reinforcing/support piece between the headlights and the hood. The brackets or whatever is on either end that support it are missing, and I can't seem to find out what they look like or what they are called. It's not part of the frame, but a part that seems to support the front shell. It's basically what holds up the "V" shaped cross member at either end.
Can anyone help??

Can you take some pics? The description is a little unclear. There is a support that runs from the front end to the radiator support but I don't kow if that is what you are talking about. There isn't anything that connects the headlight support bar to the hood.

The body of my 72 is up in the air so I can get pics from a lot of unusual angles but I would have to know what you are looking for.

What you are looking for are the triangle braces. they bolt to the header bar and to the inner fender to help support the nose. The 68 did not have these and they were one of the improvements from 69 up.

Reinforcement, Skirt front fender to front fender panel, 3954523 LH and 3954524 RH.

I got a pair years ago from my Chevrolet parts man. Might try them. Aftermarket providers also carry them. AIM will show an illustration of them.

Ditto. I added them to my '68. Tightened up the front end considerably.

Default side view of the braces

Here is a side view of what you are looking for. Their is also a pic of the support rod that goes from the V shaped header bar to the bottom of the radiator support. Good luck
