I believe the '70 had about the same emissions equipment that is on my '71. PCV valve and vapor return line/cannister are parts of that. Simply put, there is a vapor recovery line from the cannister to a "T" fitting going to the PCV valve. The PCV fits in a hole on the left side valve cover. The outlet side of the "T" fitting goes to a vacuum connector at the base of your carb. (That's were the oil & gas vapors get sucked into the intake manifold.)
I have a PCV valve but nothing else. In my quest to rid the garage of fumes I discovered there's nothing pertaining to an EEC/cannister system on my car. That in turn lead me to the Paragon site looking for parts. I noticed they list some '70 models that may not have an EEC with the cannister. I trying to figure out if my car is one of them or if someone hacked it.
I don't know when the vapor cannister went into effect in '70. I do know that there was a strike in Sept 69-early 70, so maybe it was a "pre-strike" and "Post-strike" change issue. Keep researching...I'm sure someone on the Forum can clear this up.
...I maybe wrong on this, but the tune-up label(if original)behind your master cylinder/brake booster should say "EEC" if your car had/has it. I know the 1973 and up labels do. They'll list A.I.R. for the smog pump, EGR, EFE, OOC(catalytic converter)for the later C3s.
The 1970 Corvette models destined for California had the NA9 additional emissions. I believe this included the Evaporative Emissions Control (EEC) that you are talking about. 49 state 1970 models didn't need it.

Unless the car was sold in CA, the extra stuff wasn't on them. We used to have a term - "49 State" cars....
Thanks for the help. I'm liking this '70 more and more as I go. High compression, no A.I.R. system, no EEC and no expansion tank. Nice and clean under the hood.
I'm still waiting for my reference books. Does anyone have a PCV scematic for my car?
