Default Interior color finish

I have really enjoyed looking at some of the great interiors posted on this forum and now that I am close to buying mine, I have a question. I am going with a black interior and it seems that some of the seats and door panels are kind of glossy and have a rich deep color which I like. Some of the others are more of a flat finish and while they look great also, I am kind of leaning toward the glossy finish. Is this difference because of the material? Is the leather like more glossy or the leather more glossy? Any opinions greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Most natural leathers and vinyl interiors have a semi-gloss like finish to them. Many folks like the glossy/wet look and put lots of Armor-All on them. That is a petroleum-based product, and it doesn't help the life of interior pieces....particularly leather. The only shiny leather I'm familiar with is patent leather....and I've never seen an interior made with it. Leather should get "fed" with something made for leather. I use Nu-Vinyl on my interior pieces and love it. [I'm sure this thread will get lots of opinions.]

Those shiny door panels are soaked in Armor-All and it's the last thing you want on leather. I use Armor-All cleaning wipes on my door panels and just let them dry out.....

I like Zymol leather cleaner & conditioner for my seats......
