I'm going to buy a trailer to take my vette on trips that are longer than I really want to drive it. Its not really practical for overnight trips at all since I installed a great big blue baby bottle right in the middle of the rear compartment . Anyway, I was thinking about an enclosed trailer because it offers more protection from theft and road hazards. My question is how do you get out of the car if you drive it in or do you pull it in with a winch???? A flatbed looks to be much easier to use but I just don't know about leaving it sitting there in motel parking lots. Any thoughts????????????????????????
..... get a toy-box with a Left-side (driver's-side ) door in it, usually in the general-vicinity of the tires/fenders, and it'll be about 36"-48" wide, so you can drive-in, open the door and exit w/o using a winch:
if your local trailer sales-place does options, maybe they can install a door in a trailer that doesn't have one, allowing you to postion the door where YOU want it (i.e. - where the Corvette's door will be when loaded properly ).

Thanks Glen, I will check into that but I don't expect to find that here locally, most trailers sold here are horse trailers Do you have any idea where to expect the car to sit in an 18 to 20ft trailer? I would think it would be fairly close to centered over the axles or just slightly forward.
My friend has one and he can get out of the Vette without a problem.
The trailer is 8ft wide outside so the inside is maybe 7'-6". Take measurements first, figure how much room is on the side and park next to a wall at that distance away and see if you can get out of the car.
Measure the inside length of the trailer, because they usually include the hitch in the length.
My friend's has a drop down rear door that is the ramp and has a right side door at the front. Do a search for car trailers, there are tons of them out there. Good Luck,
Dave

Look-up Pace or Haulmark on the web, you might find the closest dealership on their web-sites:
Feather-Lites are very-nice, and all-aluminum, but pricey.
Most major enclosed manufacturers are making left side doors to get out on. Any enclosed will be twice to three times that of a flat hauler. Both have plus/minus options, for security,I run a lock through the tounge lever and a cable lock from the hitch to the tounge. I have a 18'
duck tail, with air bag assist on the rear of my truck.
