The link brings you to a you tube thing, look for the Enzo footage at Irwindale Raceway the other day. Remember that according to ALL insurers these days, any closed course, even on a public road, is not covered by your policy. Any course with cones, especially ones on video, will void your insurance coverage, and like this owner self insurance becomes the issue.
Enjoy the sound of carbon fiber hitting concrete...
Also there is a discussion below regarding crashed Enzos...How many are left???

Did anyone notice how the cameraman in back of the wall didn't move at all. He didn't flinch or anything.
I call staged.
I dont think so..I have seen footage of cameramen in some bad spots....A good one stays and gets the shot.
Thats alot of car to run into a wall...he just couldnt hang.
That was a stupid set-up on that corner having the K rail next to that turn on the outside like that....much more room was needed....(even though the driver was inexperienced)...Just dumb...
More poseurs need to buy these mega buck cars and pound them into concrete IMO. Fer chrissakes the guy refers to himself as "undercover brother" probably just so somebody knows who the hell he is...
Frankly, I wouldnt go waiving "undercover brother" around in front of people as if it were some kind of accomplishment either
how much you want to bet that the real owner wont be invited by Ferrarri to buy another? I can just hear the laughter in Maranello now.
"Oh you are the guy who loaned your Enzo to a nobody actor, who proceeded to plow into a concrete barrier...Ha..no sir, we will not sell you another car...but we hear you can buy a chinese MG soon...talk to them"
At any pro-drive or SCCA track school the first thing told is brake before the corner & accelerate through the corner.
He apparently missed that lesson. He does the all too common mistake of realizing he's going in too hot, panics, and locks the brakes.
That's what grandma's do when it's snowy & icey on their suburban streets
He may have rescued this if he would've hit the accelerator and turn the wheel into it, thus helping the back to swing out.
But...Once again, he entered the corner too hot for his capability to manage the corner. It's a shame, those are such nice cars.

Bingo. Publicity gimmick? He did not seem too upset.
something to do with some movie in which he probably plays someone who knows how to drive...this is like those Hilton commercials..."Im not a real car driver but I played one in a movie once"
Of course he could used his own car.. but a 1978 blinged out monte carlo just doesnt cut it

I noticed that too! Anyone also notice how Eddie Griffin was "hamming it up" later with photographers snapping one picture after another while he's standing next to what was left of the Enzo? Word 'round the campfire is that they are doing this as a result of poor pre-screening results from that turd of a movie and need the "hype" to sell it to the 14-30 year old crowd.
14-30 #1: "wow.. that whats his name crashed a real Enzo into a concrete wall, I'll bet his movie is great!!!"
14-30 #2: "Whats an enzo?"
Not...
1st of all this isnt exactly getting major traction on the networks...tho I admit, I dont consider MTV and youtoob as network news, and as such it makes rather poor promotion.,.they would do much better with a loud trailer (the louder the better because in America volume means quality) showing a large breasted blonde, a car chase or three, 2 or more explosions and at least one gun battle.
1 trailer like that guarantee's you a minimum 50 million box office 1st night in America.

Huh? No, there are exceptions.
If there is only one car on the course it is counted as a "driver improvement course" and is covered by regular insurance.
Also, if there are multiple cars on the course it is covered as long as it is not a "competitive event". To make it non-competitive, there must be no timed laps.
So in summary: Parking lot autocross = covered
Road course day with no clocks = covered
Road course with timed laps = not covered
Drag racing = not covered (2 cars, timed)
