LOL, I had rats in the attic here for a while but I thnk I got ri of them, used the Rat Cakes from home Depot, about $50 worth of them. Room mate called me once, said the AC was broke at the house, I get home and found a BBQ'd tree frog on the contactor, he roasted and them burned off the wires.

Hey tall boy, I agree with ya on the pack rat thing. One showed up at our place one day and all these plants started disappearing and there was rat crap under every hood of every car, pickup, truck, tractor on the place and talk about stink, yuk. We tried rat traps, rat cakes, live traps and nothing worked until my neighbor showed up one day with his "secret" ingredient poked in some little pieces of cheese, 24 hours and no more rat!

A couple of tidbits from gathered from an eradication project years ago.
1 pair of rats will yield 400 offspring in 1 year.
Comparing to a human, a rat can make a 75 ft leap from a standing position.
Have had good luck with those big glue pads placed on a run. If a rat dies in a wall, car, or attic from poison, what a stink
