Default i hate mice...

i went out to wash the car this afternoon, and thought id check and see how bad my frame was looking. i found a mouse nest INSIDE the frame. went all the way from the tip of the passenger door all the way up into the engine compartment.

i just spent hte last 45 mins blowing the frame out. 1 giant mouse nest and about 10lbs of loose rust later, i think its all cleaned out. damn mice did a nice number on the frame too. the frame is "mushy" where the nest was.

with that said, theres no more high speed driveing for me. i think ive gotta keep it to about 65 and under now. whats left of the frame isnt looking pretty, or solid.

Mice are some of the nastiest creatures that ever walked the earth! Sorry to hear about your frame. I am half tempted to go check out mine!

That is the reason why I'm scared to open the spare tire box and have never done it.

No, there's no more driving at all for you, until you get the frame fixed...unless you really like the idea of facing a wrongful death lawsuit while in the hospital.

I think the issue is:
5 LBs of mouse nest made out of bits of fluff and dirt,
combined with an equal amount of mouse droppings,
soaked by a drive through a puddle...

turns into one big damp corrosive mess that takes weeks to dry out.

exactly. all the crap and wet houseing sits there and speeds up the rusting process.

Mice also dont like "Irish spring" bar soap.
I shave-up a bar and put some on paper on the floor boards and back storage area during winter storage.
I also put some on the garage floor, were the door meets the floor.
Either there is some mighty clean mice ruuning around or they dont like the stuff.
Actually since I started using the soap I havent had a rodent problem.

I know its more expensive than soap or fabric softener, but the car jacket has worked well for me to keep any critters out.
