i went out to wash the car this afternoon, and thought id check and see how bad my frame was looking. i found a mouse nest INSIDE the frame. went all the way from the tip of the passenger door all the way up into the engine compartment.
i just spent hte last 45 mins blowing the frame out. 1 giant mouse nest and about 10lbs of loose rust later, i think its all cleaned out. damn mice did a nice number on the frame too. the frame is "mushy" where the nest was.
with that said, theres no more high speed driveing for me. i think ive gotta keep it to about 65 and under now. whats left of the frame isnt looking pretty, or solid.
My vette has set for 15 yrs. The last time this car was on the road my Grandfather,Dad,and I were in it together. I held grandpa like a kid. Grandpa died 5 month later. My dad never drove the car again. I own the 75 vette now. Mr. Mouse and Mr.Snake had been rollin in my car. I feel your pain.

No, there's no more driving at all for you, until you get the frame fixed...unless you really like the idea of facing a wrongful death lawsuit while in the hospital.
Wait a minute...I know mice will chew on wires and eat thru insulation, but chewing thru steel ?????

I think the issue is:
5 LBs of mouse nest made out of bits of fluff and dirt,
combined with an equal amount of mouse droppings,
soaked by a drive through a puddle...
turns into one big damp corrosive mess that takes weeks to dry out.
yeah, I had rats chew my ignition wires big foot long rats, 2 and a third that died on my intake, what a mess. they will take over the world when we are gone
Mice also dont like "Irish spring" bar soap.
I shave-up a bar and put some on paper on the floor boards and back storage area during winter storage.
I also put some on the garage floor, were the door meets the floor.
Either there is some mighty clean mice ruuning around or they dont like the stuff.
Actually since I started using the soap I havent had a rodent problem.
