Default What do I use ....

I need to know what i can use to replace the clay like material the factory used. I am replacing the temp switch on the A/C system. It temp sensor attatchs to the evaporator tube with hose clamps. The facrory used some type of clay like material as a insulator. What do I use to replace it with.....

Windshield tape might work.

AC rebuild shops use it; some radiator/ac shops have it too. It is sold in a roll, about 1" wide. They will give you a few inches if you ask.

I bought some at O'Riellys Auto once, just tell them it's to seal the AC box. I comes in a roll with a paper between it.

What your looking for is this:





It's 3m brand windshield caulk, you can get it from most glass or autobody supply shops. Eastwood sells it too.

It's kneadable, tacky and can be shaped to fit any area. It worked great for me
