Attached is my 73 COrvette database/registry. It now has 1493 cars listed - almost 5% of the 73's made. If anyone does not have have their 73 listed I would like to include it. I am collecting the VIN or at leaast the sequence number and the trim tag codes; date, paint, trim; and the options. I also have a sheet to information from the build sheet and/or window sticker pertaining to the build, sell, and dealer history.
just email me whatever information that you have and want to share and I'll include it. If anyone has any constructive comments send them along to. rms0990@comcast.net
Currently has a black soft top. I'm pretty sure that the original would have been black also.
Power brakes
~93,000 miles
Missing most of the front bumper.
Does have the center front grill though.
Could you post this attachment with like microsoft "word"? I can't get "office" to open.

The database/registry is in an Excel spreadsheet. I believe I have it in Excel 2000 which came as part of MS Office 2000 Home Edition. I have ten different sheets in the spreadsheet The database will not be useful in a word processor for updating, editing or sorting.
Thanks Roger. I think I may have the disc for MS Office 2000 Home Edition somewhere. Keep your project alive, I think it's a great idea

Johnny please give me the dimensions such as backspacing for those ansen wheels... I've been wanting to put them on for months!!!
Also, how did you find the center grill for a 73? That s another thing I've wanted to put on the car. I live in Illinois and its illegal not to have the front license plate but in my opinion the grill is worth the ticket!!!

Boy, to be quite honest I have no idea anymore about the dimensions of the wheels. I bought them originally in 1970 to go on a 1969 427 tri-power coupe and have managed to hold on to them all these years. They aren't Ansens - I couldn't afford the real thing after buying the car so I purchased these look-alikes. I thought they were made by AAP but I tried a google search the other day and couldn't find a wheel company by that name.
As to the center grill - it's original to the car. Front license plates aren't required down here in the south.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help,
Johnny
I think American Racing bought AAP out. If you look on their website, go to their vintage wheels and you'll find it under the name Ansen. If they are look-a-likes, you sure had me fooled. I've heard on the SPEED channel, that those wheels were installed on some on the Baldwin motion Corvettes. They could also be those wheels which I would imagine would be worth some $$$.
As far as the grill is concerned, I am going to keep looking e-bay hopefully someone will be dumb enough to sell it. hahaha
I have seen center grilles on ebay but people want a lot of money for them. My car was puchased in NC and had one on it. Technically in Va, your supposed to have two tags, so to stay on the up and up I bought a tag bracket and removed my center grille. One of the botton fins was bent and genius here tried to straighten it and broke it. This year when state inspection time came along, I decided to go "antique" to avoid the inspection. I bought vintage 1973 tags and registered antique. Now the state law book says if it is an antique vehicle and did not come eqipped for a front tag, you don't have to run it. So I just got my center grille repaired by my boys at Stingrays Auto Autobody and after I get it refinsihed it's going on. I'll post some pics when it's done.
These cars look so much better with the CG's. I can't believe nobody makes a reproduction of it.

They aren't original Ansens for sure. I purchased them new in 1970 from a local speed shop and, as I said, couldn't afford the real thing so bought the look alikes. I wish I still had one of the boxes they came in so I could verify the manufacturer but, of course, that's long gone. I remember them being made by American Appliance Products (AAP) but that may be due to faulty memory.
