Some people have a hard time gettin with the times. I hope I'm never that "old". Go to a Vette show and see which cars get the most "oohs" and "aahs". They'll be modified and they won't have 15" wheels, that's for sure. Not to bash the 15" crowd, it's just that that look has been around for years and people are movin on.

You'd probably paint a tattoo on the Mona Lisa...wouldn't you?

Funny sidenote: As far as those "ooh's & aah's"... When I was looking at my latest car (pictured below, pre-purchase), I noticed the owner had a "1st Place" trophy in his showcase with a Corvette sitting on top. What's that? I asked him. "I won first place at a Corvette show with the Pantera"....

Man, that'd hurt some Vette owners pride. But I'd definitely trade up for a Pantera. Yours is sweet! By chance did you once own a Viper?

Apparently he was in tight with the local Corvette club and they invited him on a whim. They gave him a "best in show" trophy as a joke.

That's the largest wheels/tires I would put on my Vette.

Yes, "groovyjay" looks great, but he did a lot more to that car than slap on some 20's...

Now...about that "cow-catcher" you got...

not sure if this comment was directed towards me.....

fyi,

i rebuilt the entire car...only thing i didnt do is pull the body off..... took me 2 years..... sure, my interior needs to be redone......... i was looking at TTII but didnt get them......

i think people need to chill out with bashing other peoples ideas when it comes to their vette.............. i dont see hardly anyone else doing other modifications other than slappin a new motor in......

Read who I was replying to...and this thread is about ridiculously oversized wheels, nothing else. But, I can relate to your predicament and defensiveness...the guys over at the Porsche forum give me a hard time about this:

Any more pics of "Big and Littles" like Red73? Looks great. Really makes the stance.

I think the finish makes a big difference too. I'm not a big fan of huge chunks of chrome. Not a C3, but this car looks awsome with 18's & 20's..

Most folks want to "customize" their cars in some way, if you want 20" rims, go for it. Just because others don't like them doesn't mean squat.

There are a lot of good lookin vettes here on the forum and in MY opinion, some really not so good lookin vettes, but that's how I see them.

If you knew anything about Porsche's, which you obviously don't, you'd recognize the flares as "GT-2". These are bolt-on to make for a quick change at the track in case you hit the wall or another obstacle...

P.S. - Do you still sit in your dad's '73 and go "vroooommmm, vrooooom"? Does he let you sit on his lap and "pretend" drive?
