I have been looking at old threads and have found many people running 255/60/15's on their stock 15x8" rally rims. Just wanted to make sure that the 255/60's can be put on all 4 corners without rubbing before I commit to buying some. Can anyone who is running 255/60's with zero modification let me know?

Ah the old question will my new BIG tires rub? That's just it they rub on some cars and not others. You can put them on two vette's made the same year and one may rub and the other will not. Your best bet is to buy two 255/60/15 from a dealor mount them on your wheels and try tham on the front. If they don't rub from clock to clock turning your good to buy another two. But if they do you need to step down a size to 245/60 or some guys put the 235/60 on the front. You can also put 225/70's on the front & the wider 255/60's on the rear and to make things as clear as mud you can fit 275/60's on the rear of some years. Unless you are buying special tires from an online vendor take the car to a tire store or dealor & have them mount your tires.
Just FYI I did it the hard way & purchased 3 sets of tires sold two sets for a lot less then what I paid. Whats on my car now 245/60's front & 255/60's rear. If I did it all over again I'd go w/17" wheels

1 no problem here. Like Jims79 said no two are alike. From '78 up there was a 255/60 option that required factory trimming. Here's a pic of mine.........
I can't give you an answer to your question, but I can tell you that I ran 265 50x15's B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A's on all four stock rally wheels on my 1970 Corvettes. They fit fine.
I run 255/60,s all arround on my 69. No problem Another thing to consider is the condition of your suspension. Before I replaced all the components I would have occasional Issues when making hard turns or hitting that dam hole in in the road
