Thanks Timmijoe for the previous post; I didn't want to hijack, so here's my question: Where do you position the lifting strap's clips on the body to hoist it up? Do they have to be next to the #2 and #3 mount positions on the body edge, or is it based on balancing so the nose doesn't dive? Or, something else? Thanks...
Redwing's photo tells you what you need... just be careful when you lift. Just a little bit of slack in any of your lift straps and the metal hooks will slide off the metal channels and onto your fiberglass. It appears the hook is still seated in the metal channel but it will slide back and hook fiberglass.... trust me when I tell you that it makes a sickening ripping sound that you don't need to hear!!
I've seen it happen once and happened to be there helping on a second lift when it almost happened again. People will tell you that you and a buddy can do a lift by yourselves, but I think a third and fourth guy are a good idea. A pair of eye-***** on each hook to make sure they don't slide is a good thing. Plus they just might catch something that didn't get unhooked.
