Yes that was my frame. I ended up buying a 74 for a parts car and cut out the frame section I needed. The rocker channels were not too bad.
I had to cut out and repl. the #3 body mts. on both sides.

In one day you removed your front clip, pulled off the doors, and removed your old rocker channels? Man, you work fast

Post up some pics of your work

I wouldn't have done it without the help from this forum. I found myself on here doing as much research as turning wrenches.
yes 69, I was a busybody today...
the clip was ALOT easier than I thought it would be...
so was the R channels. did a little clean-up afterwards...I feel good, nice day...
I now have to remove the #4 mounts and replace them, their not good

and this is the hole I spoke about...is it ok to weld to???hopefully I can salvage it.

here are some other pics of to-days work, except the doors themselves(I took them upstairs for storage)

I noticed that when you buy the R channels they come in three pieces, when you install them its in one piece, when you take them
out they are in eleven pieces and a cloud of rust!

Jacklope, I saw that earlier in the post, CC sells them too. I also saw that link you posted about that 71 resto...added it to my favs, thanks

It's one of my favorites too. I've read the entire thing. It should be mandatory reading for anyone thinking about doing a frame-off. You quickly find out that it's not a two month project.

please remember...the Cadonia pieces and all the others are "INSERTS" they are NOT the rocker channel. they are made to go in to the rockers you have left. i spoke with the owner of caldonia and he said he would NOT recommend putting those in place of the rockers....beware

Therer wasn't enough rockers left when I replaced my channels. The repair channels are made to fit inside the old rusty channels but that didn't make since to me. I used them to replace the old ones and it has worked out fine.

I spoke to someone at CC...they said they were replacments I hope so...besides, if they were inserts, how do you install them with the brackets on them? if you leave the old ones there's no way to get them up into the birdcage pockets that I can see...
anyone got any advice on the pocket there?? can I use it?

It all looks good

I bought my Vette 9 years ago and it was beat the hell, the paint was faded and looked terrible and the interior was bad as well. I remember sitting at a traffic light and a guy rolled up to me (summertime) and looked over and said "nice car! too bad it looks like ****!

I actually did things *** backwards because of it and had the car painted and redid the entire interior as well as exhaust brakes, springs as well as the leaf spring, tires and while the frame isn't that bad..........I need to have it done and should have done it FIRST

You should be able to make that work.
Worst case is that you might need to extend the vertical
section of the "rear insert" to sufficiently overlap the striker pillar.

PS - the critters will always be around my place ... 5 acres of woods.
My chassis is fully restroed and body in place (sanding, etc) ... and I noticed
last Fall that there was a nest forming in the frame rail ... again.
That's OK ... I plan to cut the front springs a bit someday ... then the shopvac
can reach in.

Thanks for that NHV,i've cleaned them some with a wire wheel,i i'll por 15 what i can't reach...How tight do the new R channels fit? I wonder if i can weld a piece between the two, to bring it back down...

and looking at redwings new ones, it looks like the mount holes need to be drilled...if thats the case, the frame and body need to go back together for alignment, right?
