Default Help identify this , pics posted

Hello, its been sooo long since I removed the center cluster from the 68 and now I am ready to put it back in but can not remember what the little cylinder with the black wire coming off goes. Looks like it may connect to the att meter , radio, but maybe not? Thanks for any help, Steve PS, AM does not show this.

Gotta be a noise supression capacitor of some sort. Didn't have anything like that on my 71'. Usually there is one connected to the stop light switch. Can't figure out what it would be connected to on the center gage cluster.

I'd guess that it was added when someone updated the radio and got a lot of static. It appears that the flat metal piece sticks into the connector with the upper pin on the ammeter (based on the difference in appearance of the two ammeter pins).

It looks original and goes to the ammeter for radio noise suppression. The 68 AIM shows it on U69 sheet A3.
