I lived in the west suburbs. Used to drag race at Oswego Drag raceway in Oswego IL. in the 70's. I remember those old WLS US 30 commercials and WCFL AKA SuperCFL, uncle lar and little snotnosed tommy. Man Im getting old! Getting back to the original post. We have a drive-in in Earlville IL. Every spring there is a car show in downtown Earlville and an area reserved at the drive-in for the classic cars from the show.
I used to go to Soutwest Hwy Drivin on the south side of Chgo. Good ole days there. They used to have that super humungous size screen.
Do you remember WLUP and the disco demolition they did at Comisky Park....I can't remember the goofy DJ who came up with that one.

Anyone ever visit Nickey Chevrolet on Irving Park road or Mr. Norm's Grand-Spaulding Dodge? I had a Dodge Super Bee from Mr. Norm. And his driver was Gary Dyer who used to run the Mr. Norm Supercharger Dodge at the strips against Farmer Arnie Beswick's GTO.

I havn't been to a drive in movie in about 5 years. The only one I know of is over 100 miles away, and for me it is just too far.
The other problem I have is all the little kids playing around while I'm trying to watch a movie. It's the same reason I don't go to the regular movie theater. Parents now a days seem to have no respect for others, and just let there kids romp around and be disrespectful to others in the theaters, or drive-in instead of leaving them with a sitter.
If I want kids at a theater I'd bring my own.
Sorry for the rant. I think I just sounded like my father.

Went with the wife last year. Parked near the snack bar and got a ton of compliments...It was fun!!!
The snack bar commercial was the same one from 20 years ago...all yellow with disgusting greasy looking hamburgers, french fries, and

The Wellfleet Drive-in is a time warp! It's a must-do night for anyone visiting the Cape. I think it's ten bucks a car, they have the old speakers, or you can tune your radio to get sound. The parking lot is pitched downhill with burms to park on an angle for viewing. They still have all the original welcome cartoons circa 1960, and they play the national anthem at the beginning. It's really a blast from the past!
Oh, and I always have kids with me. They have a playground behind the snackbar in the center that keeps the kids occupied.
I've always taken my pickup truck and backed into the spot. We huddle up in beach chairs and blankets in the back bed. There's always a few hot rods and classics around there. Along with the old tube flourescent lights they make the place a real trip in time!
One word of advice- If the movie plays at the time of high tide, the fog can role in pretty thick. You'll want to park down front.
If you get hit with gravel by a four year old, Tazor it's parent!

I'd like to Tazor some of the parents in my neighborhood. I just had a 12 year old punk give me lip and taunt me this afternoon. It's this damn trendy liberal parenting BS. Kids are NOT scared of adults anymore.
And they wonder why all these school shootings are happening within the last 10 years.

A couple of years ago, the club had a movie night. So we had 20 or so vettes all lined up in a row at the drive-in. Luckily, no one burned up their points trying to use the radio. Good times.

Love the drive-in, but we need to take the kids and maybe a couple
of their friends, too.
We take out the gloves and throw the baseball near any shiney cars.
We are lucky that they have one in the next town over.
The Souhegan river is right there, so you can even bring the fishing
rod for some Rainbow Trout or stocked Salmon.
