I think the "forum old farts" thread earlier this year had almost 20 pages.... many long time members posted in that thread and many of them don't post much.... why ????
Recently, I think over the last 2-3 months, it seems that many members who used to post a lot post less or not at all anymore, when I for example look at old threads that I posted in over a year ago I see usernames that you don't see in recent threads....
How many members are only reading and not posting and why ??
How many of you are posting less than you used to ?
Are you posting on other Corvette boards ??
Well, while I am by no means an Old Fart (at least not in here), I don't post as much as I did last year. Mostly I think because I have had a lot of questions answered so I know more now than then, so not as much of a need for info.
Certainly don't even come close to knowing everything, but I know a Lot more than I did
I have been lying low ... and Spring (vette) Fever has not hit me yet.
Plus, I'm reroofing my house and rebuilding a boat. (don't feel old)
I try to waste time here while at work.
Sadly idk if they dont read my post cause im 16, but anytime i needed a question answered for a problem with my vette, they usally didnt get answered, so i just slowly stopped coming on here.. i figure ill just sit out with my car and tools and figure it out....
Could be a difference of opinions and too much thin skin, major personality clash's, or something as simple as a different shade of boredom. I never thought that anyone that asked for help was ignored. Peace,,,Moosie
I usually run into all these weired problems that nobody else experienced so I have to post my questions
Same here...bubba made sure all my problems are a one-off PIA headache.
I also think there is a lot of complaining lately and bickering b/w members.
I've noticed over the past few weeks that less and less threads interest me...and in turn my productivity at work has increased. weird.
Forums are like neighborhoods. If you live there long enough, the neighbors change. Some of the new neighbors are annoying and overbearing. So you move to a new neigborhood, where the new neigbors interests are alligned with your own.
I think TT and other established members may have moved to a new neighborhood and left this one behind. Things change, sometimes not for the better.
I have been here for almost 4 years now and I have tried to make a shift from lurking and posting questions to trying to post answers. I am certainly no expert, but I know that I owe a lot to this forum...
That being said, I still come on here everyday, but I agree with some others that the lack of interesting posts and the "other stuff" that is going on lately turns me off. I think one thing that actually diminishes posts is that the search eninge is working so well and now with a sticky on how to use it properly it is even easier to find an answer without posting.
