Default '69 Headrests

Since it has been nearly impossible to find a set of headrests(which I can afford ) I was wondering if anyone is currently recovering any?

If so, would said person mind getting the dimensions for what it would take for me to fabricate a set?

So things like stem dimensions, including the holes and whatever holds the foam and cover etc?

Thank you.

You can still buy the foam and cover. Or send in the metal pieces to have them recovered to look like originals. So I assume that you want dimensions of the metal pieces. I happen to be recovering mine and have one of them uncovered. I will make some dimensions for you this weekend.

BTW, I have seen them on EBAY a couple of times. There was one on EBay just last week.

Check with Rik's Corvettes (www.riksvet.com) - do a search in their online catalog for headrests. They list the foam, vinyl or leather covers, and a full restoration service for '68 and '69 headrests. Haven't tried any of these, so I can't vouch for them, but have never had any problems with Rik's.

Thanks guys, problem is I don't have any to recover and want to make a set so I can recover them. I do watch ebay but didn't see the ones last week... trying to find a job at the moment, hasn't really led to lots of vette watching.

The ones I have seen just go sky high in price...

If you can get the dimensions of the metal for me that would be fantastic.

Thanks

Let me know how this comes out for you. I have the new foam and covers, but have not had the time to start. Send me an PM when you get time.

Wayne,

I was wondering if you had a chance to make dimensions?

I Appreciate the help!

When I had new foam and covers installed on my seats I left out the headrest. This could be a neck snapper but I believe it looks better. It's a vert and gives it a lower cleaner look.
