I was at a friends today and we were working on his 68 small block. I noticed that his car had a steering stabalized (shock). From the frame to the drag link.
My 68 Big block dosent have one. My drag link dosent even have the mounting holes to attach the bracket that holds the shock. Do BB's not have em?. I have manual steering..
'68 is the only year I've seen listed with a steering damper. I don't know if it's just a small-block option. There may not be room for the cylinder under the big block oil pan.
I'm putting a damper in place of my power cylinder after having converted to manual. I don't want to hit a curb and have the steering wheel become a sawblade!
Thats it.. So you think its small block only?. I was thinking maybe the BB didnt have it because with the extra weight it didnt need it.. Does anyone know if it was an option or just standard on 68 SB's..
