Seems all the vendors that I've checked only sell tips with 2" inlets....who makes tips for the cars that came stock with 2 1/2" exhaust systems??? (This would be tips for the L82 cars as well as 454 cars)

At this point I believe this to be my only option....how did they look after being modified?

If I am not mistaken, the 73 vette has 2 1/2 inch tips on it. The exhaust comes into the tip through the center unlike the 70-72 which come in toward one side.

yeppers...the 73's did have 2 1/2" pipes and tip inlets. the problem for me is...i got none of the original exhaust when i bought this beast. taking it in to the exhaust shop tomorrow to have the new system installed---and have the tips altered to fit.

post on the results forthcoming.....

'73s used 2 1/4" muffler outlets. Call Stainless Works, a forum vendor, they have stock style stainless tips in large pipe sizes. Pricey but very nice quality.
