Wiper problem
I have a "69" vette with a wiper motor that I can't seem to get working.
I have a "newly remanufactured wiper motor" with two seperate grounds. The wiper door switch is working (continuity tested OK open & closed). When I slide the wiper switch to any speed, I get a "click" every time but the motor won't turn. I've ruled out the motor & grounding problem and the motor clicks so I would guess it's getting power. My old wiper motor did exactly the same thing so I guess I spent money for something I didn't really need. Any ideas where I should be looking?

hopefully wilcox won't mind me forwarding this link to them... this doc is wonderful... I have a long hood and had to eliminate the wiper relays and jumper relays etc... but it is correct.. getting the motor to park after shutting it off was the hard part, but I got it working..

i have this too... 10 bucks for a bunch of copied pages, but it was worth it when I was struggling with my wipers.

No problem and it didn’t cost you a thing! It's there for free for all to use just as the other “help repair pages” on this site.
If you want to park the motor, power up the large red wire and ground the case. The test I made on the site was done for our shop to test the motors on the bench so parking the motor was not of importance.

Your problem sounds oh too familiar. The wiper motor test on this page was designed for the 1969-1972 motors while it will power up and work the 1973-1982 motors and the 1963-1967 motors. (Forget 68 its weird and we have a different test for it).
I’ve stated this over and over again on this forum; most wiper motors replaced have nothing wrong with them.
Now if you power up your motor with the test and it works, you’ll need to start testing wires.
With a test light check the three wire connectors at the motor for voltage! Do this with the switch wires as well. Do not use a test light; you will get back feed voltage that will use the test lamp for a ground.
Once you get to this point, tell me what you have on each wire and well fix this thing for you.

Mine is a 72 and I downloaded your help page. It seems real clear. I am going to get on it Friday night and see how far I can get. I really appreciate all of the help you can provide. I will post what I find this weekend..

I found my problem with the grounding of the override switch. Same symptom, motor clicking. Ran a jumper ground wire to the nearest metal, problem solved.
