Default Mystery switch

I have a "69" vette. Under the dash just to the right of the steering columm is a small cannister with (2) yellow & (2) blue wires into it.
Also, there are three small hoses attached to the same canister.

Anyone know what is is?

Thanks,

Mike

Sounds like it could be the headlight override...but I don't know what the canister is for..Got any pics?

Can you post a pic? Purchase the '69 AIM and figure out what you have here. Sounds like it could be the wiper door solonoid. If it is, it should be mounted on the rear of the tachometer, up and out of the way, where you could not otherwise see it.

Small screw should mount it to the rear of the tach; lower left rear on my '68, but that might be one of those screwy '68 only things.

I think I found this same canister. If it is near your right foot, but up just enough so that you can’t see it without getting low, then I’d like to know to. There appears to be a missing vacuum line, however, my wiper door works, but my override switch takes a second to activate, whereas, my wiper switch does it instantly. I’ve been told it could be a heating vent operator, but those appear to work as well.

I vote for the wiper door solenoid/switch. It has one tube out the end which DOES NOT require a vacuum line connection....there should just be a small cube of foam on the tube to act as a filter to keep "junk" out of the vent line. It does have yellow and blue wire connections.
